Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis compounding pada lirik-lirik lagu The Beatles di media Spotify. Compounding yang adalah sebuah proses menggabungkan dua kata atau morfem bebas untuk membentuk sebuah kata baru diasumsikan ada pada lirik-lirik lagu The Beatles di media Spotify ini. Teori Booij digunakan untuk menganalisis dalam penelitian ini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik mereduksi, menganalisis dan menyajikan hasil analisis dalam bentuk deskriptif kualitatif. Temuan awal yang diperoleh adalah bahwa pada lirik-lirik lagu The Beatles di media Spotify terdapat compounding dengan kategori noun compound. Temuan tersebut selanjutnya dianalisis dan menghasilkan simpulan yaitu noun compound yang ditemukan dalam lirik-lirik lagu The Beatles di media Spotify ditulis dalam beberapa struktur, yaitu dalam satu kata dan dalam dua kata terpisah Simpulan lain yang diperoleh dari hasil analisis yaitu terdapat dua jenis noun compound, yaitu endocentric dan exocentric.
