Abstract

This report is entitled “Problems found in Translating English Terms used in Medical Field”. This report conducted as a result of observation during the writer’s job training at CV Global Linguist, a company concerns with translation and training, aims to specifically discuss the problems found in translation; find a proper equivalence of English terms used in medical terms and serve the analysis and solution in order to solve the problems.Descriptive, the method used to analyze the data in this job training report, is conducted by describing the data collected during the job training and analyzing it based on the theory.After analyzing the data, it is found that (1) the translator’s profound knowledge of either the source and target language or the field of study to which the text belong, (2) the use of translation procedure, such as transference, naturalization, and cultural equivalent is very needed in order to reach a good and communicative translation in medical field.
